Summary: "The Rest of the Story" could have been a second title for this thread. It's finished before it's even begun, considering that the only characters involved both belong to this player. I felt that it was somewhat important to thread, though, in order to avoid future confusion. The following is what happened with Mello and L after Mello stumbled upon the scene in the L/Light thread. Mello tells a story to the highly suggestible L, revising his reality to prevent him from doing anything rash after he realizes what actually almost happened with Light. He also gets some useful information about L's cameras, which he'll later share with Kain.

So, on Wednesday my mother and brother are heading off to Canada for roughly two weeks, and I'll pretty much be holding down the fort here, babysitting my father, and working. So while I'm not going to totally disappear, I'm sure I probably won't be as quick to respond.

Just a friendly heads up, so that people don't wonder why I've suddenly started replying slowly. <3

Sadly, I believe I am going to have to drop Vincent. I've been thinking on it a lot and...I honestly think it'd be best. I find it hard to get in touch with his character, and it makes me uncomfortable when I play him...So..yes, sorry for everyone who may have wanted to interact with him (and I'm sorry to Maria, since she will no longer have him around).

Though, I am willing to play a 'going away' type thread with him. if Maria-Player would like to do so, they can be traveling in Emptiness and he be grabbed up by one of those portal things that returns him to his normal world, and it closes up before she can get through. This could explain why people don't just stumble on these things when out traveling.

Does that sound good? If not, we can just forgo it and just have him disappear.

Ever felt like you're the self-destructing disc Jim Phelps gets at the beginning of every episode? Like you're only here to do this one thing, and when it's done and over there's nothing left but set yourself on fire and destroy all evidence?

Everybody seems so... honoured would be the wrong word, more like waiting with baited breath for the gallows to take you.

Just got back from the trial. I'm gonna start tryin' to crack my riddle in a few minutes, but since it's in code, there's no guarantee that I'll be able to read the actual riddle... yet. Ryuzaki had given me some tips when he figured out Metatron's cipher a while ago, so that'll help.

The deal is, representatives can't help other representatives. Only non-reps can help reps. Hah, so much for mine and Blythe's study group. It's still a good idea, just have to adjust it a bit?  

Oh, Ryuzaki, did ya still want to train? Besides figuring out the riddle, my week's lookin' pretty free.

This trial is a joke. I've already figured mine out.

I certainly hope the other representatives don't get stumped. This isn't hard at all.

I'm gonna be pretty busy up till about Thursday or Friday - things aren't awesome over here at the moment.

As always, semi-hiatus is I won't be posting in the journals, but I will be in the threads (can't exactly skimp on the Trial, ah? ^^). Plus, I think this would be a bit helpful for the people who are on hiatus. I get kinda uneasy about being so busy when others aren't and pushing plots too far ahead. This is a chance to slow it down a tad so I'm on the same page with everyone - whether or not you're on hiatus.

I'd still like to discuss the Schro/Sal/Carrion/Mello thread, though, when Schro-mun is back up and running again~ Like my character said, we have all the time in the world, so no rush at all! ♥ If you wanna talk about it, we can do so here! This also goes for any other plots that I have made plans for with others. Everything's still a go.

After some thought, I wanted to 'organize' a potential thing that might occur with some characters in the future.

On Characters Learning New Abilities
1. They cannot learn them within days. It's an insult to everyone who has a similar ability. Say if you're learning how to fight with a lance and you've never done it before - you aren't going to be good at it until at least a year of practicing hard, and that's pushing it (you aren't going to be a 'master' until much, much longer). The same goes with learning magic - characters should NOT be able to learn magic well and easily if it's not their usual thing.

Also, characters who come into the game with an ability will, with some exceptions, almost always be more powerful than people who learn a trait within the CU realm. If Alice learns to shoot a gun, she's not going to be as good at it as Sal, without serious...plot reasons that slowly develop over a long period of time, but that's unlikely.

2. Learning an ability doesn't mean you can use it well and easily immediately! That's not what learning is.

3. This is being put out there because new talents and pursuits need to be kept in check so we don't have tons of characters turning into Superman or That Dude Who Can Take Care Of Everything Alone. That's boring.

While it might be fun or necessary, or inevitable due to the storyline, characters should be encouraged to learn how to use the techniques they have instead of learning everything else.

Also! While characters MIGHT learn magic or some special thing from a world that isn't theirs, if they do not come from a world with magic or, say, someone doesn't come from a world that has guns, learning how to use that thing will become that much harder and take that much longer. I want the game to remain flexible, but not insult the players who already have certain talents.

Also, characters can't learn specific versions of magic without the permission of the mod or the player it comes from if it's an OC-style magic (say Blythe's.) Characters can't randomly access the magic of Lina's world, or randomly access the magic from Blythe's world. Different magics, different settings, etc.

The CU magic centered around this specific realm focuses on the presence of Lucifer and Metatron, and to use it is to draw bits of power from them. - This is tentative, as I have to finish wording this, but it's going to be in the wiki. <3

So, I'm back from Travemünde.

I'll try to be up to date with the posts around evening my time, but it may take maybe a bit longer as one of my aunts invited herself over to our flat.

I um... apparently I keep missing out on things, and information that keeps appearing in this back of this book I found in my pocket makes me wonder just where/what have I gotten myself into. Summary: After the first part of the first trial begins, and everyone is brought to the ceremony, each character is led individually into the place beyond the door to meet Sphinx, who will give them their trials.

[ooc: As helpful instructions, the order (though it doesn't have to be done in order OOCly, ICly, story-wise, it will) of people will be Mitch, Light, Mello, Blythe, Flauros, L, Jazz, Frank, Wesker and Maria. This is the order that the characters will be called in and given their riddle by Sphinx.

Every character is expected to post to THIS, not to other comments in this page, to start interaction with Sphinx, so that every character has a 'thread' with Sphinx within this page. This is to speed things along so that everyone gets their riddle in a somewhat vaguely timely manner, even if other people's schedules make them faster or slower to respond.

Characters will not be able to interact with anyone other than Sphinx in this thread, as Sphinx will be the only one present aside from the character entering the room, always.

As you know, the trials start today - i'll be posting a major thread for everyone today. Trial representatives will be expected to post to the thread. XD It's going to work like this...

There's going to be two threads for the trial today - one for the 'waiting room' so to speak, where the trial representatives will be escorted to by Lucifer and Metatron and be able to chit chat and all during the cermony. Then every single character will be dragged into a seperate room, alone, to meet Sphinxy, who will give them their riddle.

After that, they return to the waiting room area and can leave or chat with the others, whatever works. xD

The calendar for now:
On the last day listed for each ic day, the day ends roughly around midnight on that last date - I understand we all come from different time zones, so just base it loosely around that.
15-17: The first trial day.
18-20: Day 2.
20-22: Day 3.
23-25: Day 4.
26-28: Day 5.
29-31: Day 6.

The L/Light thread won't get too horribly sick and twisted. Mind games and such... but I wanted to warn you jokers not to mess anything up! Because I, MELLO, plan to walk in on those kiddos while looking for more ammo for my shiny, amazing bazooka. It'll be all like, "OMG WTF JESUS FUCKING CHRIST MY EYEBALLLZZZZ!!!" and then it'll be all, "LIGHT, YOU FUCKING TWISTED SICK PERV, GET AWAY FROM HIM!" and I, Mello, will save the day, therefore redeeming myself somewhat at least in the eyes of Asgard, and I won't let them forget. :D

I'll also, to save L the mortification of knowing that Light got to him AGAIN, tell him that he hurt himself, since won't be able to remember. That'll REALLY bother him, to the point where he'll be way more reluctant to leave Asgard. I'll also give him a few hard knocks and explain to him that love is pain, since that dumbass Watari apparently never did. Sheesh...

L WILL be back in Asgard before the beginning of the Trial. He won't want anyone to know what's happened except Alice, who he'll beg to keep mum about his "self-injury".

Who: L and Light and Mello
Where: Emptiness
When: August 14, the day after L and Blythe's "termination". Thursday's child has far to go.
Rating: R, for violence and some sexual content (EDIT)
Warnings: L is beyond pissed, and there is some sexual content.
Summary: On his way back from installing cameras in parts of Emptiness that L wants to use for the Trial while away from home, an old enemy is encountered. A gun fight ensues, in which L almost pulverizes Light, but makes the big mistake of being sportsmanlike and firing a warning shot. He then gets shot in the shoulder, with the same kind of bullet Light used to control Blythe. From there, L has no choice but to do as Light says until Mello becomes an unlikely hero.

For at least today, I have found a open wifi signal that I can piggyback off of. I'm not quite sure how long it'll stay like this, but I will try my best to see if I can keep it up (which means Glitch is free to play with if you so desire).

Also, Schrodinger/Walter's player wanted me to pass along the fact their net is not working and no one will be able to come look at it until at the earliest Friday.

And now that I have passed along that message, I am going to wander off to pass out since driving for almost 10 hours takes a lot out of you.

I actually miss the sea now. Pirate speech aside, it was... close to being home again. The last ship I commanded was the Wormwood, and it of course, was the most terrifying magnificent ship to sail on the waves of Mama Izabella. 

The Wormwood was also the place where I last saw my grandmother... 

Hmm, I don't quite miss her as much.

It seems I've lost 30 of the 40 stitchlings during the week, excluding my creation "Demon." Waterproofing the skins does not matter if the creature wearing them does not know how to swim. At least the rest know how to remain hidden from those fools who would use them as target practice. 

The first Trial begins in a few Days. It's no matter that I was not chosen as one of the representatives. If any of those who were chosen falter, I will simply take matters into my own hands.

Warnings: Well... have you ever tried to break up with someone who loves everything about you, who accepts you unconditionally, and who would lay his life down for you at a moment's notice? Now consider that he's excavated the buried horrors of a traumatic past and bared his very soul to you at one point or another. It's kind of like that. If abandoned hearts bleed, there will be blood (gallons of the stuff), and things will never be the same.
Summary: Blythe resolves to end things between herself and L, believing that her attachment to him will ultimately destroy one she cares for. It's tough, especially because they don't quite see eye-to-eye on the issue.

Finally back on land. I do hope that nothing like that occurs again, or if it does, for not as long.

It occurred to me, though, that I haven't really explored much of the land here. I think I might spend some time doing that. I have to admit that the most recent event has certainly given me a newer appreciation of land, and almost certainly my own clothes.

And so our little sojourn into the lands of Blackbeard and Long John Silver is over. I cannot say if I'm going to miss the ships or be happy because I now do not need to take swimming lessons.

Whatever, now the world is as it was; still glitchy as slag, but at least something one is used to.

It was interesting being in a ship that went on water instead of sand, but I won't miss all that rocking.

The clothes, however, I'm really going to miss. Maybe I'll have to see about getting my hands on a frilly shirt, at least.

Well, it's been interesting, but I can't say I'm sorry to see the ship and water go. That kinda thing doesn't suit me at all. Ugh, I'm so glad it wasn't realistic. That could have been seriously nasty.

So like, anyway, if I'm not around much over the next few days, I haven't gone and gotten myself seriously injured or anything. Just got a few things I want to get on with.

However, things take an odd turn when Dorian follows her outside of Asgard to see what she's doing. Incidentally, as things are shared, new hope for redemption may be found.
